Akkaya

Akkaya (meaning White Rock) is a very special place of extraordinary natural beauty situated near the town of Dalaman on the Turkish south-west coast. It offers the best of both worlds - peace and quiet of a tranquil location and proximity to many places of interest and historical importance.

Ruins of the ancient city of Kaunos, Lycian rock tombs near Dalyan and Sultaniye Thermal Spas are just a few of the exitng places to see. There are two excellent sand beaches in the area: the protected Iztuzu Beach where Loggerhead Turtles lay their eggs and the blue flag awarded Sarigerme Beach.

Akkaya itself is an exciting place to be with activities to suit every taste. You can fish in the lake or just take a boat trip, there are cycle paths to take in the breathtaking views of the area or just take a stroll through the gorgeous pine and olive tree woods. There are communal tennis courts and swimming pools and the new recreational centre will soon be opening.

Those who have investment on their mind will quickly realise that Akkaya is one of the best locations to buy a property at the moment. Its neighbouring town Dalaman, which boats its own International Airport has been officially named as a designated tourist centre with a soon-to-be constructed marina, golf course and health centre being just one of the reasons.

Being just on the edge of the tourism centre Akkaya is particularly appealing as it has very strict building regulations in place preventing the area from being overdeveloped in the future. It is a desired location of extraordinary natural beauty with stunning views of the lake and mountains with only 15% of building density permitted. Typical rentals in this area range from £250p/w for apartments to over £400p/w for villas.
